NBA teams consider a variety of factors when determining their prices for all primary ticket sales. Prices vary by day of the week (weekends are more expensive than weekdays), seat location, opponent, and city. Another important factor to consider is the quality of the team and the star players. For example, the addition of LeBron James and Chris Bosh caused Heat tickets to nearly double in value. Similarly, Dwight Howard drove Lakers tickets up by almost 20% and Carmelo Anthony increased Knicks tickets by 11%. Simply put, people are willing to pay big to watch the NBA superstars.
